No I don’t. I’m a non-native speaker of English over the age of 25 so some things seem to get lost in translation. If you’re saying I’m a fan of Graham Linehan you’d be right. There are few men in puplic discourse at the moment who come close to his courage & integrity.

Lolwut? Dude tanked his career and personal life because a private company took an episode of a TV show he wrote out of it's rotation after criticism from their customers. An episode that was not just transphobic but deeply misogynistic, might I add.

The whole 'joke' of that episode was that Douglas only found happiness with a trans woman who shared his love of beer, football, and other 'blokey' things. As if women only enjoy pretty dresses and French lace.

You might not have found the episode funny but where exactly is the transphobia? Or the misogyny?

I totally do, that’s why I don’t tell children who don’t conform to them that they were born in the wrong body. The IT Crowd is a comedy not a how-to guide. The episode was taking the piss out of sex stereotypes and transphobia, I’m ok with that.

Making a joke with a message of, "Obviously if someone likes sports, they are really a man, no woman would like sports," is misogyny. It's just that simple.

We all just avoiding talking about how the end of that episode is Matt Berry repeatedly punching Lucy Montgomery in the face or what

I don't see the need to get into the weeds here In any other context the "radical feminists" would be up in arms, rightly, about a punchline where a man beats the shit out of a woman and it's played not just as a joke but as a triumphant victory

But here - even though she's played by a cis actress - the script says the character is trans, and that not only makes it acceptable but hilarious Jesus Christ, look at yourself in the mirror
