Yeah so the fact that it's NY and there's a whole unfinished unrented apartment just sitting here indefinitely and it has signs of occupation (used can of Axe) and that the hole is clearly meant as a hidden access point to her apartment... This is all very sushttps://twitter.com/CheyMillz/status/1367481434835808259 …

I mean, okay, whatever the landlord's intentions or lack thereof, this is unsecured access into her apartment from the hallway (other apartment's door was unlocked and ajar) That's not okay

If the apartment were actively being worked on, she'd hear that, right? And she'd be like "Oh, so this is why it's so noisy!" So is that just an empty apartment? I thought the rental market in NY was really tight.

I find myself unfortunately drawn toward the most likely scenario being a setup to prey on female tenants

I imagine a few families in the city own a great deal of property and stuff like this happens. For most people to imagine leaving empty space in NYC anywhere unoccupied is a huge waste but for them it's like "Oh, that unit? I forgot about that."

Seems to be something like what is described in this bruising and distressing article:https://m.chicagoreader.com/chicago/they-came-in-through-the-bathroom-mirror/Content?oid=871084 …
