I agree. I really do. But here’s the thing; even if the system is set up so that the opportunity cost of not spending hundreds of dollars makeup & stylists & dresses is less than just schlubbing it because you’re human, that system is still an opt-in system, and they CAN opt out.

Maybe this is where the disconnect comes in between the kind of people who are willing to make it in Hollywood, and the rest of us, but ultimately, despite however much society puts on you to conform to a standard and ideal, I think you can choose to buck the trend.
