Yeah we need to have a talk about how our internal stereotypes about stuff like "power" don't have much to do with human health or functioning Continuing to add more muscle without fat is like adding more cylinders to an engine and shrinking the gas in the tankhttps://twitter.com/GGarethwilson/status/1366320305963077632 …

Ripped and toned and defined muscles are making your body burn calories at its maximum possible rate while having nothing in reserves as fat

If calories were money, it's outright demanding someone live the spendthrift Brewster's Millions lifestyle "I want you to *earn* $250k a year and *spend* $250k a year -- not a damn penny left in the bank at the end of every week, I'll be checking"

it also takes a fair bit of pharmaceutical enhancement for most people to maintain the bodybuilder look and that has its own health risks.

depending on how your metabolism responds to stuff, a soft fat flabby body can ALSO be what that body looks like, esp if you start when you're already chubby. I started developing a restrictive ED at 180lbs. I'm 230lbs now and have atypical AN. You CAN be hungry & gain weight.

And thanks to that restrictive ED (+ existing physical disability & chronic pain) I have no muscle tone at all and struggle with a milk gallon. Muscle Is hard to build and hard to keep. Our bodies favor fat bc it takes nothing to maintain.
