I recently tried to explain that I'd decided to try and extend conditionless compassion to everyone, and it baffles people. It's a belief that it requires the soul of Mr Rogers and not that Mr Rogers cultivated this behaviour deliberately because he found it valuable.

I'm terrible at it, of course, but I think the goal is valuable in itself.
