*he can hear the entire planet*. And he can reach anywhere on the planet effectively instantly. The existence of *problems* not on the scale of planet destroying superweapons is inconsistent with Superman existing

It's functionally a Time Stop.

The best part is that he can STILL do the "zip so fast it's like teleportation" thing INSIDE the time stop His superspeed is recursive, he can use "superspeed" while relaxed and from his POV walking around normally, then invokes HYPERspeed when he's in a real hurry

i mean this is just a weird watson/doyle tension in all superheroics bullets and blades cut even superhunks because they're dangerous in the real world ultrapunches don't kill normies because punches don't do that in the real world
-
This is like my pet peeve about how superpowered vampires always bare their fangs and try to use them as primary weapons instead of just *punching*, when their superstrong punches could logically be used to inflict devastating harm.

Like why is him flinging people out of the house just ahead of the blast wave of the explosion less harmful to their health than the explosion itself doing that
-
Anyway it's not even about making real world physics sense In hindsight I enjoy those scenes so much because they're such a huge middle finger to the entire rest of the movie even mattering Logically what is the need for any other X-Men, what purpose do they serve
