Yeah unless you are a dualist, every single feature of the "personality" is a "physical feature of the brain" and there is nothing remarkable about this claim
(Embodied cognition modifies this claim slightly, but does not invalidate it.)
Right, like I think the strawman here is that "genderists" believe gender is some completely immutable metaphysical truth stamped on your soul from birth by God And of course I don't believe gender is that, I don't believe things like that exist Who does
The irony is that TERFs do believe this about "biological sex" (it's an obvious, immutable, clear distinction "stamped on every cell of the body" etc) and are projecting - "Well if THAT isn't the immutable truth then what is?"
The thing being, TERFs also do believe in this kind of immutable truth about "between the ears" stuff - like sexual orientation - and find any suggestion of fluidity in that regard deeply threatening and violating etc
Like, they are the ones stridently insisting fluidity of orientation can't possibly be a thing and if you claim it is you're advocating conversion therapy and abuse Their strident "protect lesbians" rhetoric is at the level where they don't even seem to think bisexuality exists
They all clap and cheer when Glinner etc sneer at bi/pan people as "straight kids trying to seem cool" and yelling "queer is a slur and it doesn't describe a real thing" and so on
Anyway, the "genderists" are the ones saying that gender is complex and can be described as different things at different times under different circumstances (non-binary identity) and can be experienced by the subject as changing over time (fluidity)
And that the evil of conversion therapy is that it's trying to change something externally and against your will, not that it's changing something that's in principle impossible to change
Which, shit, isn't anything close to a new opinion or new idea, as much as some people are trying to start generational discourse about "old school binary trans people vs hip young enbies" Christ this very speech is laying out this idea in *1994*
