If she was claiming Rothblatt essentializes gender identity in the speech that would just be false, Rothblatt says what matters is what’s in the head but also that there are infinitely many possibilities each unique to an individual, which is not essentialized.

Anyway, the "genderists" are the ones saying that gender is complex and can be described as different things at different times under different circumstances (non-binary identity) and can be experienced by the subject as changing over time (fluidity)

It comes off like an absolute terror of having to consider that they might be living their lives "wrong". Which is, again, a really simplistic and inaccurate way these things work and it's just the opposite extreme to their current positions.
