I cheer a little when I see the actors in other projects that Whedon does not have a hand in. It feels like they escaped.

Dichen Lachman and Enver Gjokaj are incredible talents and their versatility was a highlight of the show - as was Alan Tudyk's. The gross context both behind and in front of the camera aside, watching them work was a wonder.

Dollhouse has always felt like a really problematic-yet-good show that thinks it’s self-aware but doesn’t quite understand itself or what is either good or problematic about it. Thinking of it in terms of unintentional confession makes a hell of a lot of sense.
