Huh, this is how I see the American presidential republic vs. the Westminster parliamentary systems of government. One evolved overseen by highly educated people over centuries, while the other was created ad hoc based on the older system by a bunch of colonial bumpkins.

One of the smallest parties in Taiwan to be big enough for a Wikipedia page is the Trees Party, which was founded by one of the founders of the Taiwan Greens who broke with them for compromising too much and no longer being truly Green

(Fun fact, the first Green Party was in Australia and the name came from the hot-button Australian issue of "the Green Bans" pushed by Aussie labor unions)

So here's a fun thing: I am literally a former Australian Greens candidate (Division of Petrie, 2019; didn't make it to formal AEC nomination and was replaced by the more moderate Jason Kennedy, who was a colleague and friend) and I did not know this
