And Forth's suicide note really is a rough read, tremendous trigger warnings for anyone who's been through anything similar The idea that these people she worships as icons of compassion and thoughtfulness and truth have an "irrational bias" she can't overcome breaks her

And she tries to convince herself that *she's* "irrationally biased" -- because if she were one of her own friends she would absolutely look at herself and think she was a vicious raving SJW brainwashed by 3rd-wave feminist misandry -- and she CAN'T So she kills herself

The suicide note *actually says* that she would rather die than live her life as an enemy of the community she loves, that she'd "rather be dead than be an SJW" It's fucking grim shit

the forth letter is indeed incredibly grim, and one of the things it reveals by implication is that by the end forth didn't have any normie friends who could give her any kind of outside perspective everyone she knew and cared about was in the cult

to me that's one of the biggest red flags that it is, in fact, a cult we're not just talking about epistemic closure, but social closure indeed a sort of social closure specifically encouraged by all this talk of the Rational Elect and the irrational masses

so that forth, after being repeatedly sexually assaulted, after having her attempts to do anything about that sexual assault rebuffed and discounted, couldn't just go be with a normie friend could no longer even see a life outside the cult which left her a single grim choice

the dynamics are to me reminiscent of terf culture the way ex terfs will talk of coming from a place of pain, of having the feeling of seeing The Big Secret and then joining the army of the righteous, getting lovebombed by the senior members--

It's because terfery and "Rationalism" are both cults. (ie, high-demand, totalizing, isolating, rigidly hierarchical groups.)

The sheer amount of rationalist jargon in Forth's note -- it's hard for me to decipher all of it, and I've been following these chucklefucks for years -- is itself triggering and painful Like watching a victim of the Church constantly quote Scripture to justify their pain
