I often disagree publicly with @slatestarcodex on substance, but I love that he does what he does.
The NYT article’s thrust seems to be that anyone who is not enthusiastically aligned with the NYT’s views is Bad. Plus, in his case, part of a vague but terrifying tech conspiracy.

At minimum they demonstrate the way paleo-conservative, anti-enlightenment narratives are easily converted into fascist radicalization.

Mussolini was the first to chart that course and it worked even when the old, ultra traditionalist order still existed to some degree, and he had to overcome their bone deep hostility to upsetting the status quo.
