And this is why my heart has been breaking since the first episode. It's horrifying to watch because I feel for Wanda, but I also know Vision absolutely did not want this for her or for himself. I really hope we get some emotional payoff for this horrific tragedy

Which does raise the question of what these two people saw in each other to begin with. If it weren’t for the comics grounding, it would be as unsupported a ship as Hulk/Black Widow.

I could see it as a similar "open-hearted softy and hard-bitten cynic" dynamic but there is almost nothing to their interactions. Vis is a dogsbody and Wanda just makes random stuff happen for the plot until Infinity.
