Paul Bettany being distractingly shirtless in this scene and giving a very entertaining monologue about the science of hangovers was an intentional distraction they threw in for the fact that the room is a single and there's no other bed for his "roommate" to be assigned to

One of the lesser films to have won Best Picture AA by my lights, alongside Argo and The Green Book. The Academy was evidently determined not to give it to Robert Altman - Gosford Park was the better film.
