Christ you're the guy who tried to tell me LBJ was less racist than Joe Biden because the 1994 crime bill was the most racist thing that ever happened in history Who the fuck are you to tell me about American history

Youre the guy trying to say the author of the crime bill is an ally in the fight against systemic racism. You're too full of venom for this discussion to go anywhere but it won't take long for activists who actually care about systemic racism to see Dems arent solid allies

I never said that, I said that it was a good thing Biden won the election, much as LBJ was a far more virulent and vicious racist than Biden but MLK thought it was a good thing LBJ won the election

It's a real mystery that these people never acknowledge the alternative to electing Biden in the general election. Oh wait, it's really not.

There is this really weird dichotomy lots of people seem to be operating under that either you love Biden or you wish he lost. I think Biden is a shit and I still want him to have won. I put effort into it, although nowhere near what MLK did.

At what point do you believe the fight against systemic racism should emphasize the bipartisan rather than republican-specific basis of systemic racism? Or do you even accept that systemic racism in America has been administered in thoroughly bipartisan fashion?

I believe it is a mistake to think we can vote our way out of systemic racism. Politicians aren't going to be your allies. They're going to be officials that you will have greater or less success pressuring to do what you want. So pick who you want to pressure.

This 'strategy' that you elect people you can then pressure sounds alluring, but it's bankrupt. Makes it seem like the powerless people are in the driver's seat, not the powerful party. Is there any historical precedent of success for this specific strategy?

I like this Socratic method thing you've got going where whenever someone proves your incredible factual ignorance about a given topic you just ignore it and pivot back to asking broad philosophical questions to try to keep the discussion moving

Like I'll turn it back on you - why are we even talking about this In what possible sense is it "pinning all your hopes on Joe Biden" or "declaring your loyalty to the Democratic Party" to just be glad that Gina Carano got shitcanned

Are you under the impression that this is "partisan politics" somehow divorced from "real politics"? Like she got fired just for being a registered Republican or giving money to Trump Because it really really isn't

I am not under the impression Carano is much of an electoralist either The political subculture she represents is busy cutting their ties to electoral politics right now - "Fuck the RNC, fuck Trump, fuck the system" ... That's the whole problem
