I think that's true - but I do think that for the most part, this impeachment WAS flexing that muscle. Getting 7 Republicans was a lot, and there's not much else to do. But we didn't run away from it.

I don't want to be pollyannaish, and there's a whole lot at stake in the next few months that will give us some illumination here. But they took this shot and all voted together. That's something we haven't seen much of.

This is why revolutions accomplish a lot of change really quickly TBH. And coups too. Because it quickly becomes a snowball once they excise the opposition. Not saying they're models but yeah "political capital" is probably an overrated idea.

When you push on one thing and get you way you shift the Overton Window. You can push on the next thing. It gets easier not harder to ask for more because you've already got the opposition on the back foot.
