"What other TV writer has a whole academic journal dedicated to his work?" etc (Slayage: The Journal of Whedon Studies, which was still going as of 2020 - https://www.whedonstudies.tv/slayage-the-journal-of-whedon-studies.html …)

TVTropes started as specifically a Buffy fansite in 2004, before becoming a general Whedon fansite, then a genre TV fansite, then TV in general, then all media in general But the Whedon fandom in-group jargon is still all over the place there - terms like "Big Bad" etc

It feels kind of weird now that the official TVTropes term for a creator ruining a fan theory is "Jossed"

I recall people saying stuff like this all the time. Joking "we worship at the alter of Joss Whedon:". Or various people being amazed I didn't like Firefly.

I've been going to
@DragonCon for many years, and until relatively recently there were only two single-creator tracks. One was Tolkien, the other was Whedonverse.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

In a lot of ways, it was the first online fandom! The fic, the videos, the spoilers!
