MMA is real, practical, no-frills fighting to win with all the showy performative stuff from traditional martial arts stripped away right So by definition what they do is totally unlike acting

It's like being surprised a plumber is bad at acting in a movie playing a character who also has a job as a plumber Unless the onscreen action consists of nothing but realistic plumbing scenes I don't know why this would be a surprise

The most bizarre thing about this was stuff like hiring Rousey for Mortal Kombat *purely as a voice actor* Not posing with her muscles, not doing mo-cap of actual fighting Just her voice reading lines, even though she didn't win any championships for talking

i mean you watch her fight scene with ewan mcgregor and it's clear what's happening. one is a fighter and one is an actor and it's more satisfying for it her views are wack but it does nobody any good to pretend that the limit of acting is repeating dialog convincingly
