Yeah I mean in-universe I feel like this is obviously the Jedi both wanting their members to have only one loyalty, to the Jedi Order, and to avoid the idea of "Jedi dynasties" within families Which all makes sense, especially with their history as an anti-Sith army

But yes I definitely consider this part of the subtext of why Luke thinks the Jedi Order isn't worth bringing back in TLJ ("To call the Jedi the same as the Light is vanity") and the reveal with the Broom Kid in the ending
-
It’s why in my opinion TLJ is the only sequel that actually engages with the rest of the series, instead of being an “…and then, and then…” add-on. Johnston specifically countered the idea of Star Wars being the story of one dynasty of force-users with Rey and the stable-boy.

I was so hyped up when LJ pretty blatantly leaned in to saying rei was the rising antagonist to the dark side, and then the potential of both Kylo and Rei bucking previous trends of this conflict and ideology and where we could go for a synthesis. Alas. Our dreams are but dreams

I will say the choice to have them literally tear the thematic football of the conflict of the force, and the fate of the skywalker bloodline, in two between them was very on the nose and just tremendous. The past cycle is gone, now we must make a new world.
