This makes sense when you realise that the rule that requires Roman Catholic priests to be celibate is an administrative rule intended to prevent Church offices from being passed down in families, and nothing to do with religious purity (unlike celibacy for monks)
Other church branches solved the same issue by allowing (even encouraging) parish priests to marry, but requiring bishops to also be monks.
Read a story about a religious Jewish guy who wanted to study the Torah but also wanted to get laid. He was encouraged to see a hooker. A pal of mine said that was ridiculous. He would be told to get married and be celibate. First time I found out celibacy doesn't mean no sex.
