"This isn't time for superficial thought-stopping garbage like "Jews do not cause anti-Semites." " No, i think it's exactly time for historically informed rational thought, C James. Saying "it's not time to think" is a hilariously foolish rhetorical strategy.

He never said "it's not time to think" he called it thought STOPPING garbage as in the phrase in question is a simple hand wave without substance. He brings a good point up. Refusing to acknowledge the reasonable cause and effect just because it might offend someone is a problem.

I've thought about the idea that "Jews provoke antisemitism by being too left-wing" plenty of times in the past, considering that it was a common refrain among "moderates" in Germany in the run-up to WWII The conclusion of my thinking is it's evil garbage

THe Lindsay "Its not the JEWISH, it's the WOKE" -- to which my response was basically: "'Jews I DISLIKE anti-semitism, the others are Good Jews' is not the defense you think it is." A Black friend pointed out that 'woke' here implied n*-lover, which tracked

Also to try to tear down Jews with the "woke" label, like my dude, Jews have been arguing back and forth about fairness, intent and so on for centuries. You can always tell who doesn't get Judaism isn't hierarchical and authoritarian like Christianity is.

A huge amount of antisemitism is just projection Like the blood libel is literally just turning back around on Jews the obvious creepiness and ickiness of the Eucharist ritual (which, according to Catholics, *literally is* cannibalism and must not be referred to as a "metaphor")

And most of the stupid canards about how "international Jewry" has some kind of strictly hierarchical centralized administrative structure coordinating strategy for the whole religion worldwide is just describing how we all know the Catholic Church explicitly publicly functions

I also can't help but think of it as a reference to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which is antisemitic BS

This deep dark secret of what the Elders of Zion are supposedly doing in their hidden chambers is just what the College of Cardinals do, and what we all know they do, because it's what they're officially supposed to do

It sounds like a conspiracy theory except the Catholic Church *isn't* a conspiracy because it's not a secret, at all We just all accept that this is how it works and has worked for hundreds of years
