The temerity of motherfuckers to tell me, a transgender veteran, that Biden reversing the Trump policy on trans service members somehow totally vindicates him As if basically every trans person that would have meaningfully affected wasn't purged from the ranks over four years

Hey, if Biden's buddy Obama hadn't completely shat the bed on trans people for so many years when he got DADT repealed, then there would have been years of precedent for open trans service that would have made it substantially harder for Trump to overturn it

Oh no but he got to it EVENTUALLY. By which I mean he lolligagged through the implementation of that policy so that the responsibility for it could be passed onto his successor, but not so soon that plenty of trans service members had not already come out to their commands

People are dead because Obama borked the rollout of that policy so badly but I guess it's fine because his more conservative successor made everything better!! Never mind that the culture of the military became exponentially more regressive and dangerous under Trump

Trans people can maybe openly serve in the military for the first time now! And they can join at the very bottom rungs of a force that is even more bigoted, toxically masculine, and violent now than it was four years ago, whee!

Okay, but on the bright side, now you don't have to settle for being an "airman" in the "Air Force", you get to be a "guardian" in the SPACE Force

I still think about how fucking stupid that was Isn't this an attack on all the other services by saying they're *not* also "guardians"

Seriously it's just stupid bullshit based on the fact that the logical equivalent of "airman" should be "spaceman" but that's poisoned by pop culture Also unfortunately draws attention to the total lack of connection between the USSF and astronauts in NASA

I mean wouldn't the correct term for a National Aeronautics and Space Administration agent be "Space Administrator"

Well no, most of them are the ones being administrated
