I volunteered at a neuter/spay clinic and shelter for years. We never performed cat abortions. Not sure what kind of person subject an animal to that.

It's not really that different from spaying a cat that isn't pregnant and it's less physically traumatic for the cat than carrying to term, just like humans If you think it's *emotionally* traumatic for the cat you're taking anthropomorphism to an absurd extreme

Question: do you feel similarly about abortions for all species who breed out of control?

as opposed to, what, hunting? Is it more ethical to go out once a year and hunt down all adults of a species before they can breed instead of just aborting them in the womb?

At least if they’re born they have a chance to live. Not all bucks and toms succumb to the rifle.

Yeesh well this is romanticized anthropomorphic thinking up to 11 The most humane way to cull an animal is to keep it from being born in the first place (sterilization) Failing that, it's to do so systematically and professionally (with a 100% guarantee of being killed)

The *least* humane thing to do is outsource the cull to enthusiastic amateurs, i.e. hunting I mean it's cheap, because you don't have to pay them and they buy their own guns and shit But giving the animal a "fighting chance" is just fucking torturing it

Projecting these human values of "dignity" and shit onto an animal that, like most animals, does not think about these things or think at all and just eats and fucks and runs around You think a buck a hunter wounds and then loses and is then maimed gives a shit about that

me: i honor and respect this animal, by killing and eating every piece of it the animal, rapidly bleeding to death after being shot in both lungs: fuck youuuuuuuuuuuu

Yeah the purpose of these traditions is for you, the human, to control your own behavior and to try to ingrain in you the importance of not killing wantonly and unnecessarily Don't flatter yourself the specific animal you killed actually gives a shit
