I feel like, at some point, we are going to have to reckon with the fact that basically every trans person who is regarded as "notable" is somebody who was "notable" and then came out as trans Coming out as trans certainly seems to preclude the accumulation of "notability"

She was totally an early example of trans notoriety in a way that we would now find to be exploitative and gross but that she successfully parlayed into a career
