Folks also forget about the whole conspiracy aspect. Booth was the only successful assassin but they tried to kill Seward and he just...didn't die. They were going to kill Johnson but that guy choked.

Yeah, that was why Edwin and Abe were BFF. Eddie snatched a kid off the train tracks and it just happened to be the president’s son. Their friendship furthered John’s resentment of his more famous brother.
