i am told apache was supposed to be a pun on "a patchy server" but that doesn't excuse it. i am guessing open source people in 1995 were not the most sensitive people

I mean, they're just following the US military with the name of the Apache attack helicopter It's a whole pattern of the US genociding and oppressive native cultures and then picking up their names to use for ourselves as symbols of "savage strength"
