A lot of wannabe parents are in the replies getting defensive about their decision to pop one out during a global pandemic/oncoming recession, citing 'they're stuck at home so now is the best time', what happens when you go to the hospital and it's full of pandemic patients

Alexa, what's the covid mortality rate like for pregnant people?

I'm guessing some of the people trying to squeeze out a pandemic baby are just absolutely loaded. Ten grand! The rest, who are going outside the system, are going to catch the virus or give them to the donors. Genius people all around.pic.twitter.com/6xlxOoGsED

I don't understand the point of this article. Sperm has cost that amount at the more expensive banks for years. And weirdos have been hooking up for "natural insemination" via Facebook for years too. They're taking fringe people who were always around and trying to make a trend.

Yeah and while the "independent donation" scene used to be clearly a fringe thing with a lot of fetishists it's becoming normalized as more and more people enter the sperm market who can't afford the banks' prices

Like the article is literally written by a respectable journalist who a few years ago would never be expected to go hitting guys up for sperm on Facebook but admits she's found herself reduced to doing so
