There are only 5 species of chili pepper. That's it. Good luck counting all the different cultivars.

And even all of those are mostly just 3 of the 5. Baccatum and Pubescens are fairly reigional.

They all kinda smell like farts if you cook them wrong, though, so it makes sense to me. They missed selecting out the fart gene.

I taught older kiddo about this with amaryllis bulbs and a paint brush. Crossed a red one and a white one and came out (18 months later) with some pretty salmon ones I still have.
