Diet and weight are absolutely landmines everywhere but especially left of center Twitter and it's really unfortunate since, you know, our bodies are part of our lives in a big way, and people are almost always supportive of every other way one wants to change their body

And I recognize that, it's just really frustrating and kind of dissonant that nobody (except fash) shamed me for having multiple massive surgeries to modify my gender presentation and function, to have the body I want, but wanting to then work to reach a weight I want is bad
-
Like, I grew up with an image of the kind of woman I wanted to be in my head and while I'd rather be the woman I look like now than a man, I'm not the woman I want to be body wise, and I have strategies that *are working* to get there and I get shamed for that out of nowhere

on the starboard, the scylla of "everyone is required to be skinny," on the port, the charybdis of "everyone is required to love their body as it is," rowing straight between them the bootleg girl, shouting "it's a false dichotomy! bodily autonomy is fundamental!"

It's been an issue before, like people have been canceled (before it was called that) from feminist communities for announcing they personally were going to try losing weight for health reasons after having been outspoken about fat acceptance
