I've grown to realize that Clinton's famous "flyover country" description of places like most I've lived in reflects a real sentiment among people who live on the coasts and do business by plane a lot, and also that they're absolutely right to fly over and not land

An ideal map of the USA would just be a very narrow continent, with the coasts, and then a 75 mile wide line between them containing Chicago, Detroit, Houston, Atlanta, Austin, Denver, and Dallas

It gets even more obscene to consider the "land votes" of the pre-Rockies Western states like Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho, when you consider that in at least one cast most of even the *land* is in fact national parks
