In case you're wondering Why Someone Doesn't Have a Magazine Contract Anymore, maybe it's because this is what passes for analysis. (Find me one Dem leader who's offended by any of these things.)https://twitter.com/sullydish/status/1346503811821658114 …

Inclusion once meant adding people and identities. Now it means *removing* them - if they identify as a mother or father, brother or sister, son or daughter. These very words are now deemed offensive by the Democratic Party leadership.

I'd be hard pressed to find you a trans activist who is "offended" (or even mildly troubled?) by sister, brother, etc. I could find folks who use neutral words for themselves, I dont know anyone trying to de-gender all language and I'm a trans man who reports on trans stuff.

TERFs don't actually believe that anyone is trying to remove words like "mother" and "father" To the contrary, what fills them with rage is people using them whom they don't think have the right to them

If I'm understanding this correctly, the central policy thing is that the Dems in the house are rewriting their guidelines in some fashion to not use certain gendered words. Which, unless I'm missing something, good?

If the previous language was talking mothers and fathers, then that leaves some folks out. Which is bad. The idea that this renders the words themselves bad is silly. They're just underinclusive in certain contexts.
