Right! Although I think that alone isn't enough; the prosecutors, judges, and executioners were men, who were certainly capable of ignoring teenage girls' complaints in other contexts.

The darkly funny thing is that it's pretty much the same playbook as the current TERF effort, to find teenage girls to claim as the primary 'victims,' and then turning to the state's justice system.
