I mean the fact that the actual finale was a wild swerve from the rest of S15 to "take the show back to its roots" does kind of tell you how far from its roots it strayed

But yeah the fact that to this reviewer it makes sense the last episode is some random vampire hunt that has no connection to any kind of larger plot arc

So, the result is we have to throw away 15 years of character development for all characters to appreciate the finale, and then it’s meh.

This is probably the best way to watch Game of Thrones. Watch the first couple of episodes, watch the last couple of episodes, and then put together all the middle plot and characterization in your head

It was literally so disconnected from what the show became that watching it felt like watching a parody. It didn’t make sense. Tone wise, plot wise, none of it made sense. It was bizarre. Like there’s a lot to say about spn but that finale did not fit what it had become at ALL.

Apparently the finale was meant to take place a full five years after the previous episode (where they defeat and dethrone God and everything), according to Jared Padalecki ...It might've been better if they'd actually said that in the episode
