I wasn’t going to dignify this “question” with an answer but I think I should go on record. Of course children should not have to get the parents’ permission to have an abortion. And any kind of child abuse is obviously not the goal of children’s lack of autonomy.

I would consider teenage abortion a form of safeguarding in the same way that delaying transition is a form of safeguarding. Motherhood at age 13, like undergoing physical transition, is not a step I believe children are equipped to make.

Not arguing for forced abortion at all, to be clear, but I fail to see how transitioning is at all equivalent here. At least you can make the argument that birth is very dangerous for a young teenager. Teenagers taking hormones or puberty blockers isn't even on the same scale.

Right, one reason she keeps saying "13-year-olds" is muddling the medical side of the issue -- the younger the patient is the more likely doctors are to say that carrying to term isn't worth it because of the risk to the mother's life and the low odds of the infant surviving
