I wasn’t going to dignify this “question” with an answer but I think I should go on record. Of course children should not have to get the parents’ permission to have an abortion. And any kind of child abuse is obviously not the goal of children’s lack of autonomy.

Okay cool What exactly do you think a teenager's right to decide whether to have an abortion or not is, if it's not an exercise of "bodily autonomy"

I would consider teenage abortion a form of safeguarding in the same way that delaying transition is a form of safeguarding. Motherhood at age 13, like undergoing physical transition, is not a step I believe children are equipped to make.

Forced abortions is a pretty extreme position.

What would you do with a pregnant 13 year old girl? Criminal offence has been committed, btw

Forcing someone to get an abortion against their will is a violation of their human rights.

No fucking shit Sherlock Unless it's a minor, victim of crime, who can't form consent. But you're a fucking idiot so it's block time

I'm not sure how to explain to you how "they can't consent therefore it's okay to force a medical procedure on them" isn't the slam dunk argument you think it is.

He's arguing that a minor victim of rape will automatically be made a ward of the court (not true) and that being a ward of the court means the state will automatically determine the child is incompetent to make their own decisions and an abortion is medically necessary

The latter of which is not *supposed* to be automatically true and, if it is -- and I don't doubt a lot of pressure is exerted in a lot of cases -- is a really bad fucking thing And I'm as pro-choice as they come (emphasize on the word "choice")
