I hoped to get across that I thought it needed an Ed Sec who could de-escalate, and talk with the unions on what was needed - precisely for the reasons you give. (My ma is a retired teacher, too.)

Yes, no one should have to make a choice between their own "sanity" having to deal with kids underfoot at home all day while trying to keep their own jobs and their finances afloat, and essentially sentencing older teachers to death for your own benefit But also, fuck you

I mean, it's ultimately harmful to you too, because those kids carry infection back into their homes, and the parents aren't all as young and hale and hearty and immune as they think But if they *were*, that would make it morally *worse*

My argument isn’t based on the parents though, I think the loss of education in early childhood is in and of itself something that we should have gone to great lengths to avoid. It’s purely about the best interests of young students. Also, I’m not including colleges.

Becoming infected with a virus at age 8 or whatever that has no symptoms now but will probably give you heart disease or kidney disease etc by 20 is not what I’d call getting kids a healthy start

It absolutely is both, in an ideal world wed have actual support structures and financial support to help families take of their kids. But also for christ sake if you cant take care of your children dont fucking have any.
