You just literally cannot trust people in this country I mean we should've known that from countless examples in history but this is just another level You not only can't trust them to give a shit about other people, you can't trust them to take care of THEMSELVES

Anytime something happens that disturbs their worldview or makes them the slightest bit uncomfortable, huge swathes of them will just make up a bunch of total nonsense that makes them feel better, and follow it into utterly predictable catastrophe

Even if that weren't the case, and it absolutely is, Covid is never going to be eradicated simply because it can live on in other animals. It is impossible to get rid of it in the same way we basically wiped out polio.

I suspect we will feel like France after being occupied by the Nazis. We’ll remember who resisted, and who collaborated. And I bet the come-together-centrists will try to weave a face-saving myth so the collaborators can re-join society. But I’ll remember.
