The funny thing about these bitter TERF rants is the repeated, strident, and totally unexamined conviction that being a real woman is synonymous with having children and choosing not to have children is an option only available to men https://twitter.com/RadiatorSunny/status/1340783875484766216 …

I liked the "elderly parents who need care" part. Like... Eddie Izzards mother died of cancer when he was eight, but sure, your... thing sounds terrible too? Caring for the parents that.... only... cis... women....... have?

I keep saying that when you define yourself *against* intersectionality and you make your goal to be actively anti-intersectional then you inevitably spiral into madness Universalizing everything to the maximum possible extent

It's like they recognize the damage patriarchy has done to them and theirs personally, but then they've wildly misdirected their anger and projected it on to a group that has it even worse.

The Patriarchy is a complex set of interlocking factors; making real progress against it is an uphill battle with no guarantee of success. Telling yourself that another, more marginalized group is the *real* problem and punching down at them is easy and emotionally satisfying.

One thought I occasionally have is that TERFism seems to have some of the same roots as Trumpism: for people unsatisfied with their lives, it provides an easy scapegoat.
