Whoa, nWoD/CoD don't have to be ugly, and get fear powers.

I did not know there was any version where Nosferatu didn't have to be ugly

Invisibility, Fear Powers, Super Strength, and you just aren't great at social graces cause there is at least a feeling of the Beast about you. But, you'd probably be more Mehket, just for the 'fast, sneak-y, see-y' fits your infiltrator trope predilection.

You have to have a mechanical penalty to all your social rolls and they just changed it so that you can flavor the exact reason why differently than physical disfigurement (a horrible smell, a screech voice, or just "feeling off")

Imo this is kind of bullshit, although I appreciate they were trying to do something PC and get away from negatively stereotyping physical disabilities But if I were GMing I'd make you thoroughly roleplay out why exactly people are disgusted/disturbed by you

Well nWoD's whole and VERY UNSTATED goal in the initial launch with Vamp was to remove the metaplot, and to allow the world to be open to interpretation. With nuNos it broadly flavored as tied to the fear power they have. But yea, in practice, most STs did what you suggested.

Tbh the idea of being constantly surrounded by a repulsive odor is probably more disturbing than the weakness being that you look ugly

Tbh What We Do In the Shadows' Colin Robinson is a great portrayal of someone who looks fairly ordinary and yet is intrinsically repulsive based on the way he acts
