(I mean, i don't think Tiptree was a woman in an uncomplicated sense anyway, although she did use "she" pronouns. She also referred to herself as "her father's son", etc. I think if she'd had the language she might very well have identified as genderqueer.)

Yeah this gets into speculation and the fact that a lot of people didn't recognize the trans framework for gender identity back then but she obviously took active pleasure in having the James Tiptree persona (who went by he/him) and never psychologically recovered from exposure
