If there is an intellectual ancestor of the 20th-century fascist movement it's Henry Ford Americans are too embarrassed to admit this and Europeans are too snobby tohttps://twitter.com/jasonintrator/status/1338638541031677952 …

There are various good reasons to think that Trump is not a fascist. The view that some European historians have, that fascism was some profoundly intellectual project that Americans are too shallow vigorously to pursue is not one of them.

Americans aren’t embarrassed to admit Henry Ford was AntiSemitic or Fascist or whatever - Is that what you’re trying to say..? Its not really debatable

Okay well if we're not embarrassed by it then it's kinda weird we still have his name all over the place and talk about him as a hero Isn't that actually worse

He made a car most American Families could afford. He perfected the assembly line. We don’t worship him! Gotta be careful with this cancel crap. In SF stripping Abraham Lincoln & Thomas Edison names off schools . Could realistically end up doing that with everybody. Dangerous

No, actually, if all the buildings had their names removed every 50 years and we had to come up with new ones, I don't see what the big damn deal is

Might be a bit tricky for future historians to work out what happened where.

Most schools in Ontario just have names, and I used to disdain the idea of giving schools numbers. But we're never going to have to grapple with the fact that the number eleven was really into genocide.

UK schools have no consistent naming convention at all. Most are named for the location they’re in. Some are named for the location they *used* to be in. Some are named for their founders.
