When viewing anything at home these days I leave subtitles active regardless - audio mixes are so often awful when it comes to the balance of dialogue, ambient sound, music and explosions :/

Yeah, it’s kind of mad that stereo mixes are an afterthought for so much media given it’ll make up the bulk of the viewer experience

Why though? To prevent spoilers? Bc if he thinks that either of the “twists” in Tenet was 1) not obvious from the moment the first clue was dropped or 2) needed explanation, I’ve got some bad news

No it's just his style People say he personally seems to have hearing issues where he needs the bass turned all the way up to really feel the music and sound effects in his movies and as a result everyone else finds the "BWAAAAMP" overwhelming, it makes dialogue indecipherable

There is no sound mixing worse than Watchmen, but Nolan movies do come close. I’m more annoyed with the chess piece storytelling. “These characters do this.” “Why?” “Because they do.” “Oh ok.”
