parents can take their kid's phones; spy on them; lock them in the house; forbid them to see SO's (queer or otherwise); refuse to help them with college; kick them out of the house. there's hardly even a social consensus that any of that is bad.

I think ”Lord of the Flies” addresses what happens when kids aren’t provided structure and discipline. I guess it’s fine Piggy got his skull crushed by a rock as long as the kids are able to do whatever they want unencumbered by their parent’s oppressive tyrany

Fiction books don't actually "prove" anything about psychology and social science because - brace yourself - they are made up

If Arthur Chu knew anything about psychology, or basic social observations (Lord of the Flies was conceived from such an observation) - he would know exactly what happens when children are left unsupervised and without boundaries.

From a social observation of a specific class and abusive environment, as a direct criticism of people advancing it as a superior case Hmm almost like contingent forces affect people’s likelihood and ability to harm one another in ways beyond simple predetermined human nature

It’s almost like everyone in this thread tries to use as many big words as they can, put them into a tweet, but literally say nothing.

It's a book about spoiled prep school kids and people who think it says something about all kids are dumb doo-doo heads There are those words small enough for you

I think you like the reaffirmation the knuckleheads give you on Twitter, which might be why you constantly retweet yourself. Is that concept clear enough for you? You will literally get 100 likes for saying “doo doo” and think you did something....and maybe retweet yourself.

Everyone likes the affirmation they get from being on Twitter, there is literally no other point to using this website And I do enjoy it, especially when it happens in the course of making assholes look foolish

Some (
) don’t realize they are actually just making themselves look like assholes
And most people don’t care about Twitter affirmation, unless they are trying to fill a void caused by tyrannical parents of course.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
