Disheartening to think no matter what I achieve in life I could only ever be at best the second most famous Brad.

My mom named me Brad after a really good one night stand she had in high school. My mom knows how to party.

I’m not even a Bradley. It’s Brad on the birth certificate.

My deadname was like that, a name mostly commonly occurring as a short nickname, but it was just my name, and I constantly had to deal with people using the long version Despite the "short" version that was my legal name being *a book of the Bible*

I almost never hear people using the long version of your deadname, I don't even think of them as the same name

It was CONSTANT. Teachers and stuff, despite having a roster and all, would insist I was the longer version (I dunno why I'm coy about the name, it's out there, there's always just the chance of one stalker who doesn't know it yet deciding they're not going to stop saying it)

I don’t consider it being coy if it’s not your name. Makes total sense to me.

Yeah but I'm the champion of it being okay sometimes in fiction, so I feel weird about concealing it. Again, if people didn't act like it was something I should be ashamed of, I probably wouldn't avoid mentioning it - but sadly some do

Interesting. As an aside I did not conceive of a dead name for Laurel for it was actually unnecessary in that instance for me. However I do know the name Duke was assigned at birth: Aubrey.

Aubrey Plaza would be fascinatingly bad casting for her
