The elitism about MDs is in and of itself really annoying If you want there to be a special title for "people whose job is directly treating the sick" then EMTs and nurses should have that title toohttps://twitter.com/MelanieMoore/status/1338755345838034945 …

I'm told by EMT friends that the worst thing thah can happen when they're treating someone is for a doctor to show up. Doctors are trained to take charge, and the paramedics, at least at the time, had to give way to them. Just a nightmare situation

There's an early episode of House where House goes down to where the EMTs are desperately trying to save the latest patient they've brought in with the mystery illness He mentions his crackpot theory and the lead EMT dude is like "We can't do that, he's not in stable condition"

And House goes "You know, if you wanted to be the doctor, maybe you should've gotten better grades in school" and the EMT looks him in the eye and says "Bite me" My med school friend says this character is the most heroic person in the entire series
