the reason people are reacting so strongly and reflexively to noah's tweet is that he doesn't hedge or ease you into it he just points out that this is true, in fact obviously true, and a lot of people really don't like the implications of that for their own lives

Yeah how different is this exactly from a landlord saying "A dozen families have a roof over their heads because of me" or a business owner saying "I give a hundred people the ability to make a living"

The landlord and the business owner have a better case for it, because their tenants and their workers are adults who have the capacity to at least try to find a different situation if they don't like doing business with them Kids have no power to opt out of the arrangement
