Parenting is using a power you have to assist someone who lacks that power. There are ways to parent that use that power oppressively but no one who is up every night for months at 2am allowing someone to literally suck sustenance from their body is oppressing that person.

My point of view is entirely clear. He's "clever man"-ing a truism. I'm sure some people think actually parents don't have power over their kids and those people are wrong. Perhaps you should argue with those people!

He is clearly not just saying that, he is saying that this is a morally negative situation that should be fixed Which is a position so far from obvious that people are attacking it as monstrous and anti-human (as they did with Engels)
