To the degree that I am sympathetic to the argument that calling PhDs "Dr" in social situations outside of their field is unnecessary and elitist, I am completely unsympathetic to the argument that calling MDs "Dr" is any different or any better

Like Dr. Laura, he's not technically breaking the rules because his PhD in psychology itself was never technically revoked But he is in fact actually barred from practicing after he was investigated by the TX Board over ethics complaints
-
And the fact that he's basically doing the same thing as what most people would think a psychologist or therapist does but *technically* is only an "entertainer" on TV and therefore it's all legal is very, very bad

He recently had that grifter Joel Osteen on his show so any shred of credibility he had ended then.

It's funny, for all the talk there is that only physicians should use the title Dr to avoid confusing people in medical settings those two both use the title to falsely boost their reputation and the 'only MDs count crowd' doesn't give a fuck.
