*somber silence* Square-Jawed Hero: "Well then it's clear what has to happen. The rest of you get to safety, I'll -- " The Morally Ambiguous One Who's Only In It For the Money: "I'm afraid I can't let you do that, friend" *shoots them with paralyzing dart*

There's this D&D movie from a while ago, Of Dice and Men (not to be confused with the nonfiction book of the same title about the history of D&D) About this meta shit where people in a D&D group use the game to vent their issues with each other

It's funny because it's meta Like if you don't know the subtext then his villain monologue about "stealing his death scene" is completely literal But if you get it then the subtext of what's really happening irl is the same as what's happening in the game

The only two survivors are the Paladin and the Rogue, and the Paladin calmly says, "A Paladin's life is duty. Take the others back to the temple for resurrection, and tell them --" "I stab him in the back with my poisoned dagger. Sneak Attack"
