This is auteur theory's fault Tons of people on set could've and should've pushed back -- the kids' parents shouldn't have taken the job, Vic Morrow should've just walked out -- but Hollywood had this ingrained culture that directors were geniuses and you didn't question themhttps://twitter.com/JoshuaHumphrey/status/1335278128797790208 …

Like there's an important dividing line when it comes to respecting an artistic collaborator and someone like Landis who can recklessly risk people's physical safety just because he wants one really cool shot crossed it miles and miles ago
-
Warner saying it's no longer allowing any of it's directors final cut except for three, is not a good thing imo. Hence Fincher et al running to Netflix.

I mean I think about 70% of stuff if not more I like can be described as the creator working through some sh*t, as Brad put it Interestingly though I don't think this Twilight Zone thing qualified as that, neither did the stunt that killed that woman on Deadpool 2

Hitchcock wasn't "working through some sh*t" when he intentionally antagonized actresses, at least not in an on screen creative sense That's way different IMO than Anno Hideaki making an obtuse work inspired by his issues (or the Wachowskis doing that for that matter)
